MASH HYDROLISATION

The priority in feed pelleting is cooking starch and protein to bring starch gelatinisation and denatured protein to a level that sufficiently transforms the feed pellet's physical characteristic; most importantly, in a way that contributes to good intra-particle bonding, pegging water activity (Aw) of a safe level, and, enabling significant physical volume recovery in production to minimise or eradicate production loss.

Our innovative approach of “Effective Mash Hydrolysation" entails getting all the moisture added at mixer-stage (including the microscopic moisture from steam), to effectively penetrate into the feed chemistry (starch/protein) to make the difference. Good steam management ensures a high degree of steam volume and quality integrity, providing adequate amount of heat and moisture for cooking.

We have the proprietary expertise to ensure maximum and effective Mash Hydrolysation - a patent-pending concept of entrapping moisture at a faster rate into the feed chemistry (starch/protein).

EFFECTIVE MASH HYDROLISATION

  • Maximises starch gelatinisation

  • Denatures protein for better digestibility of the crucial amino acids

  • Steers off maillard reaction and the formation of maillard compounds (MRPs & AGEs) which can negatively affect immunity, health, nutrition, and growth performance

  • Pegs Aw at a significantly safe and manageable level (displacement of moisture into the feed chemistry) in post production for better shelf life and nutrient potency

  • Greatly improves production efficiency and production recovery

  • Significantly reduces fines and production reruns which impacts essential micro nutrients

HOW IT IMPROVES THE FEED BUSINESS

  • Quality Control starts at source of feed

  • Promotes good gut health and performance of poultry

  • Optimizes and stabilizes condition of critical nutrients in feed

  • Reduces dependence on costly additives

  • Frees your produce from toxins

  • Ensures better and safer farm produce

  • Promotes best practice in food safety

  • More efficient - lowers operation cost

Watch how MASH HYDROLISATION releases you from problem-riddled issues to a confidently better-performing environment, focused on producing significantly better quality poultry produce

Non-treated - Maillard reaction making pellets prone to feed value loss and shrinkage
Treated - maintains strength, feed value and form
Poor shrunken feed quality and darkening on left versus well-processed feed on right where form and nutrimentals are optimized so feed displays higher quality feed value and inhibits degradation and volume loss

DMX-7 is the only product in the market that can lock in the nutrimental values already present in the feed

Direct Benefits of DMX-7 in Feed Processing

  • Increased production throughput

  • Reduced fines/wastage

  • Nutrient values maintained

  • Improved digestibility of feed

  • Reduced shrinkage, thus feed volume is closely maintained

  • Lower microbial activity (from bagging, to storage, to the chicken house)

  • Freshness is maintained even over long durations of storage

Indirect Benefits of DMX-7 in Feed Processing

  • Cost savings due to more prudent use of feed additives and micro nutrients

  • Improvement of DOC quality and broiler production parameters

  • Better chicken health: lower mortality, lower FCR

  • Improvement of table egg quality

HOW MASH HYDROLIZATION WORKS

  • The radical Mash Hydrolysation ensures that adequate moisture incorporates into the feed chemistry to effectively cook the starch and protein, and offset the negative effects from high temperature during thermal pellet feed processing

  • The starch is cooked to set precision, to effectively bond the intra particles and nutrients. DMX-7 is key to achieving this efficacious condition that locks in all the nutrients and minimizes degradation

  • Mash Hydrolisation stimulates and optimizes the moisture level and maintains a balance between moisture content (%) and water activity (aw), providing another positive charateristic of good quality in feed

  • The technology may require operational changes and fine-tuning in existing feedmill production lines. DelstAsia's team of experts offer consultancy in this area and close monitoring of change process

Treated: Effective cooking of starch with DMX-7 bonds intra particles and nutrients resulting in good form, intact nutrient value and better feeding value in processed feed
Non-Treated: Advance gelatinization due to insufficient moisture and high heat causes Maillard, degradation of nutrient value, compromised feeding value, fines and shrinkage

'WELL-EXECUTED FEED PROCESSING IS PIVOTAL TO FINAL FEED QUALITY AND HAS A DIRECT IMPACT ON POULTRY PERFORMANCE AT THE FARM.'

Effective Mash Hydrolisation derives moisture from both the raw material and steam during the feed milling process to maintain an acceptable moisture content and low water activity in the final feed. This leads to chemical stability within the feed, and, reduced microbial load.

GRAIN STORAGE

TECHNOLOGY

SUPERIOR MOISTURE MANAGEMENT USING UNIQUE DMX-7:

  • SAVES GRAINS FROM SPOILAGE

  • SAVES SILOS FROM DEGRADATION

  • SAVES COSTS SIGNIFICANTLY

Moving free water molecules is the root cause of grain degradation in storage.

This is especially true in tropical regions where heat and damp cause water movement, resulting in degradation brought on by ensuing microbial, fungi or mold activity. Other factors affecting quality of grains stored are improper hygiene and insects.

TYPICAL PROBLEMS OF FAILED GRAIN STORAGE USING CONVENTIONAL MOLD INHIBITORS

Condition of 7-year old silo due to sweating

Conventional mold inhibitors provide limited success in dealing with grain storage, often bearing unsatisfactory side effects, such as

  • corrosion to steel and concrete silos

  • bridging, caking and hot spots due to inability to control moisture migration

  • unstable propion caused by low heat resistance

  • infestation and high microbial contamination

Moisture migration causing bridging and caking
Insect infestation
Resulting corrosion from unstable propion and sweating
Corrosion and/or unstable grain movement caused by moisture movement can cause collapse of silo (example: 1000 tonnes of corn spilled to the road upon collapse of Nibong Tebal 7-storey Feedmill in Sungai Bakap, Malaysia)

GRAIN STORAGE SOLUTION WITH DMX-7 MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE

DMX-7 was developed to address the dual problem of grain degradation: qualitative and quantitative. DMX-7 is an extremely cost-efficient technology for managing grain quality and facility maintenance.

4-year old silo without DMX-7
8-year old silo maintained with DMX-7 treatment.

Treatment halts degradation of grain quality in storage and prolongs lifespan of facility.

Without DMX-7: moisture migration causes bridging and caking
With DMX-7 treatment: manageable fluid grain movement

DIRECT BENEFITS OF DMX-7: QUALITY

Inhibits degradation - maintains quality and volume of stored grains:

  • Controls moisture migration thereby reducing grain respiration, sweating and hot spots within the grain mass

  • Increases grain flowability by preventing bridging and caking

  • Minimises moisture loss – reduces loss of grain mass

  • Prevents insect infestation

  • Prevents microbial growth and contamination

  • Maintains both the micro- and macronutrients in the grains

  • Maintains the grains' physical integrity by reducing fines and dustiness

INDIRECT BENEFITS OF DMX-7: SAVINGS

Lowers capital and maintenance costs and prolongs silo lifespan:

  • Scientifically formulated to provide a controlled release of Propionic ions which results in prolonged efficacy, lower rate of application and overall cost effectiveness

  • Chemically buffered to near-neutral pH rendering it non-corrosive, resulting in long silo life, lower cost of maintenance and capital investment

  • Combined with enhanced stable viscosity which eliminates spontaneous internal combustion and handling concerns due to the reduction of fines and dustiness

  • Increases free-flowing grain mass which prevents silo damage (caused by the imbalance of grain mass distribution) within the silos during discharge

  • Reduces the need for silo rotation program, thereby reducing expending time, silo space and energy
